Understood simply, Eucharist Adoration is adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ.
In a deeper sense, it involves “the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us”.
In its fullest essence, Eucharistic Adoration is “God and Man reaching out for each other, at the same time!”
Please join us in Eucharistic Adoration at St James Chapel. Adoration hours are as follows:
Monday – 9:00 AM (following the 8:30 Mass) to 4:00PM
Tuesday – 9:00AM (following the 8:30 Mass) to 4:00PM
Wednesday – 9:00AM (following the 8:30 Mass) to 4:00PM
A group of volunteers are present in the Chapel during the entire time the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the Monstrance. Each taking a turn spending a full hour in prayer and reflection. Everyone is invited to stop by the Chapel during the hours of adoration for any amount of time. Those who participate in Eucharistic Adoration find tremendous rewards for themselves personally and spiritually. Here are some thoughts about the benefits of Adoration from our parishioners.
“Being an adorer gives me time to be away from everyday interruptions to my prayers — phone, doorbell, etc. Most of all it is a time to offer prayer and give thanks to God for all I have been given” (Claire)
“Spending an hour in the quiet of the Adoration Chapel continues to strengthen my spiritual life by renewing my devotion to the rosary and deepen my personal relationship with Jesus. At Mass I am a member of the congregation celebrating; in the Adoration Chapel, I am contemplative and it fosters a closer relationship with God.” (LM)
