All Catholics 14 years of age and older are required to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday
(February 17) and all Fridays in Lent.
Also, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting: those between the ages of 18 and 59 should eat less, meaning, take no solid food between meals and only one full meal on those days. Serious health conditions, of course, excuse a person from fasting.
Parents are encouraged to ensure that minors who are not bound by the law of fast and abstinence are educated nonetheless in an authentic sense of penance.
Every Friday during Lent, Stations of the Cross will be held at 6:00 PM at St James Chapel.

Spiritual Communion Prayer
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
